4-H news


The WCR/RR 4-H Club recently met at the courthouse basement. The meeting was hosted by Renee. Special guests/presenters were Hope and David. The horse expo was discussed. The next meeting will be 7 p.m. March 1 at the courthouse.

The Long Lake Beavers 4-H Club recently met at the Long Lake Town Hall. Jilene and Janey Adair hosted the meeting. Michael Montgomery gave a demonstration on how to shoot an air rifle.Communication arts, the district retreat, fun night, shooting sports and camp counselors were discussed. The 60th anniversary was planned. Kristina made a motion to be in the Share the Fun. The next meeting will be 7 p.m. March 12 at the Long Lake Town Hall.

The Daggett Brook 4-H recently met at the Daggett Brook Town Hall. Maggie Nelson gave a talk on self-expression. Jeremy E. gave a talk on how milk goes from a cow to the store. Brittany E. gave a demonstration on blowing an egg. Shelby S. gave a demonstration on how to prepare foods. Ashley M. did a demonstration on how make a newspaper chair. There will be basket social on Feb. 25 and a Parlimentary Procedure on March 1. The next meeting will be 7 p.m. March 12 at Daggett Brook Town Hall.

The Bay Lake Buccaneers 4-H Club recently met at the home of the Lofquist family. Hosting the meeting was Rachael, Heidi and Vanessa Lofquist. Project talk given by Heidi Lofquist on warm up exercises. Upcoming Parlimentary Procedure skills in newsletter, communication arts, community service for March meeting. Members plan to participate in 4-H Fun Nite on March 24 and plan to make tray donations for first day of spring for Cuyuna Regional Medical Center patients. The next meeting will be 7:30 p.m. March 12.

The Explorers 4-H Club recently met at Green's Garage. Hosting the meeting was the McGuire Family. Josh Green spoke on knots and rope safety. Destinae Jorgenson recited a poem on Harriet Tubman for Black History Month. Hannah Kreutfeldt gave a demonstration on baking cherrie jubilee. Jorie Green did a presentation on the history of Valentine's Day. Mr. T. gave a talk on photography and how to display photography. Meeting items discusses were Share the Fun and American patriotic songs are being practiced. Future garage sale and Parli contest are being planned. The next meeting will be 7 p.m. March 16 at the Green home.
