20 years ago (1986)

The Exchange Club of Brainerd recently honored Lisa Haberman as its February Student of the Month. Lisa, the daughter of Darwin and Patricia Haberman, is a senior at Brainerd High School.

30 years ago (1976)

Brainerd's downtown improvement project is off the ground and on its way. It was gratifying to see the city council accept City Engineer George Kriha's feasibility report for unanimous vote Monday night.

40 years ago (1966)

Brainerd voters by a more than 2 to 1 margin approved the $3-5 million bond issue for a new high school here. A total of 4,247 voters went to the polls.

60 years ago (1946)

Brainerd defeated a fighting Moorhead team 46-41 in one of the best games ever seen here for several years. Brainerd was sparked by Arne Swanson who split the net for 14 points and did such excellent work beneath the basket to recover almost all the rebounds.

80 years ago (1926)

100 years ago (1906)

A "St. Patrick's Day" Oyster Supper will be given on March 17, at the Methodist Parsonage, by the young people of the First Methodist Church.
