Four cans of beer in the wall
It wasn't a time capsule but an unusual find, found between the walls of the Franklin Arts Center in Brainerd. Construction worker Bill Buchanan of Grand Rapids kneeled beside the four 1955 Hamm's beer cans he found in the duct work of the 1955 addition of the former Franklin Junior High School. This portion of the building, now owned by ArtSpace, is being remodeled into apartment studios. Last month, ArtSpace closed on the purchase of the building from the Brainerd School District.
