Rural Brainerd woman suffers head injuries in ATV crash
A rural Brainerd woman suffered head injuries in a four-wheeler crash about 4 p.m. Monday on Leisure Lane near Upper South Long Lake south of Brainerd, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department reported.
The victim, Sandra Nolan, 56, was airlifted from the scene to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
Information on her condition was unavailable Monday night.
Sheriff's Sgt. Andy Bradley said it appeared Nolan, who riding the four wheeler alone, was ejected from the ATV after it flipped over on the roadway, though it wasn't known what caused the ATV to flip over.
After being ejected from the four wheeler Nolan's head struck the pavement, he said.
Assisting sheriff's deputies were the Brainerd Fire Department and North Ambulance.
