The Brainerd School District announced its reorganization of elementary school administrators for next fall, following the impending closure of Whittier and Lincoln elementary schools and the elimination of a half-time principal position.
According to the school district, Steve Lundberg, now serving as principal at both Harrison and Whittier, will become principal at Baxter elementary next fall.
Erin Herman, now serving as Baxter principal, will return as principal at Nisswa Elementary School and Jeff DeVaney, currently the Lincoln elementary principal, will move to Harrison Elementary School.
Herman and DeVaney, who will head the two smallest elementary schools in the district, also will be assigned additional responsibilities as administrators, the district reported.
Garfield principal Jane Fritscher, Riverside principal Cathy Engler and Lowell principal Todd Sauer will remain at their respective schools.
Staff meetings were conducted Monday afternoon at each of the affected buildings to discuss the administrative changes.
