20 years ago (1985)

Little Falls repeated as Class AA girls basketball state champions with a 48-43 triumph over Mankato East at Met Sports Center. Staples girls topped Milroy 49-39 for their first ever girls cage title in Class A.

30 years ago (1975)

Brainerd scored a 17 point Paul Bunyan Rifle League victory over Aitkin scoring 1,861 points to 1,844, tallying 369 for Brainerd were Billy Ulm and Vince Kampmann.

40 years ago (1965)

Duane Roberts and Kermit Hill practice frying pancakes for the big pancake feed which will be held here in conjunction with a St. Patrick's Day promotion. Free pancakes will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Elk's clubrooms.

60 years ago (1945)

The members of the Washington High School basketball team and their coaches, Kermit Aase and Mike Hyduke, were guests of the Brainerd Rotary Club at a noon luncheon at Ransford Hotel.

80 years ago (1925)

Two leagues of volleyball teams are being organized at the YMCA. Each league is composed of four teams of four players each.

100 years ago (1905)
