A level of $21,020.87 has been reached in the total goal of $45,000 for the Brainerd Senior High School A Cappella Choir trip to Europe.
40 years ago (1966)
A spring blizzard, carrying winds of 60 miles an hour and up to two feet of snow, roared across Minnesota. Schools were closed by the hundreds and power outages were reported. The storm hit a day ahead of the state basketball tournament and some teams were snowbound.
60 years ago (1946)
With an attendance that taxed the capacity of the hall, Brainerd Elks Lodge had its annual election Thursday night and Ben A. Steinke was elected Exalted Ruler to succeed Dr. M.H. Carlson who had served two terms.
80 years ago (1926)
The Brainerd State Bank building furniture and fixtures will be sold by the state banking department. In the spring of 1924 the bank closed its doors and it has remained closed ever since.
