LOCAL BRIEFS Community Easter party set Saturday at Moose Lodge
The Moose Lodge in Brainerd will have a community Easter party for children under 12 from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be pictures with the Easter bunny, crafts, games, prizes and hot dogs for everyone.
Rummage/bake sale set for Brainerd Women's Bowling
The Brainerd Women's Bowling Association will host a rummage/bake sale 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 1-2 at Oak Lawn Town Hall on Highway 18, a half-mile east of the Highways 18 and 25.
The purpose of the sale is to support the Komen Bowl for the Cure program and to raise funds for the local Susan K. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation affiliate.
Items to be donated include baked and canned goods. Example of salable items include children's clothing, games, puzzles, toys, lamps, books, tools, dishes, videos, CDs, jewelry, etc. Price the items prior to the sale.
Items can be brought to either of the Brainerd bowling alleys before the sale. Those interested also may bring items directly to the Town Hall after 8 p.m. March 31 or during the days of the sale.

County trails closed to motorized vehicles
Because of the spring thaw, some forest trails in Crow Wing County will be closed temporarily to motorized vehicles.
Signs are being posted on each trail to inform the public of the closure. County forestry staff will monitor the trails and re-open them when conditions warrant.
