Brainerd High School will salute its co-curricular "artists" at the seventh annual Fine Arts Banquet March 28. Artists from debate, speech, drama, music, creative writing and publications will be honored.

Spring is here and the sap is running. Many area residents are out tapping maple trees for the syrup they contain. A tree located along the Mississippi River just north of here held seven cans.

Bradley Hulsether received the Bear Badge at a recent meeting of Garfield Cub Scout Pack 83.

Brainerd is in good shape financially. Brainerd is not out of debt to be sure, but compared with other cities its size Brainerd is well off.
80 years ago (1928)
Brainerd is in the California belt. S.A. Saxrud of 809 South Seventh Street brought the proof to the Dispatch office. It was a bunch of fresh succulent onions picked from his back yard garden. These onion shoots hibernated and renewed their vigor on the first indication of spring.
100 years ago (1908)
The ladies of the First Congregational Church will give a 15¢ waffle supper at the home of Mrs. Geo. h. Brown, 623 North Seventh Street Tuesday evening.
