Teacher cuts might be forthcoming
CROSBY -- The first step in possible teacher cuts could come at the 7 p.m. Monday Crosby-Ironton School Board meeting at the Deerwood Auditorium.
Superintendent Linda Lawrie said that establishing a proposed unrequested leave of absence list is frequently done in spring as the board looks at upcoming staffing needs.
Lawrie also said sixth-graders are scheduled to return to school Thursday. Once they are back only grades 7-10 will be out, she said.
Wednesday is the 33rd school day the teachers have been on strike.
