Cause of death for Staples' Timothy Jay not determined
STAPLES - The man who was found dead shortly after noon Wednesday in downtown Staples has been identified as Timothy Lee Jay, 46, of Staples.
Staples Police Chief Kyle Huber said an autopsy was performed Thursday by the Anoka County medical examiner's office. Toxicology reports are not expected for two or three weeks.
Cause of death has not been determined.
"There's no obvious reason for his death at this particular time," Huber said, adding there was no sign of any traumatic injury or assault.
The body was discovered Wednesday near Jay's residence in the 100 block of Sixth Street Northeast.
Anyone who has information about Jay's whereabouts between Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning is asked to call the Staples Police Department at (800) 794-5733.
