20 years ago (1988)

The Brainerd City Council approved an allocation not to exceed $30,000 for construction of a parking lot on River Road near the Brainerd High School baseball diamonds. The lot is to include space for about 100 vehicles.

30 years ago (1978)

Leesha Flanagan, taking over from Tesi Richardson to check a 10-run Little Falls rally in the first inning, gave up just three more runs in the game and Brainerd High School girl's softballers defeated Little Falls 26-13.

40 years ago (1968)

Ron Grams was named president of the Brainerd Jaycees. Other elected officers are Dave Molin, Stan Gruenwald, Dick Mans, Gary Longballo and Jim Vandeputte.

60 years ago (1948)

At the annual election meeting of the Lincoln P.T.A. held at the school the following officers were named. Howard Blanck, president; Mrs. Robert Sheflo, vice president; Ralph Lindberg, treasurer; and Mrs. Harold Skarolid, secretary.

80 years ago (1928)

Mrs. Ernest Butler motored out in the country this morning to get some special cream for the St. Francis Guild card party this afternoon. At noon Mr. Butler receives a phone call saying she was stuck and the result was she didn't arrive in time to attend the party.

100 years ago (1908)

The "Rear Drive," a boat on the Mississippi, is towing up to Brainerd having made the trip from Little Falls to Fort Ripley in two days.
