Brainerd man receives award for helping those with disabilities
Brainerd resident Ray Griffin was recently awarded the STAR Award for Excellence in Assistive Technology.

Griffin was one of 40 recipients to be recognized for his commitment to removing barriers to independence for people with disabilities through the use of assistive technology.

The award is sponsored by A System to Achieve Results (STAR), Minnesota's Assistive Technology Act Program. Griffin is an assistant technology specialist for the Rehabilitation Services Branch of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. In this capacity, he helps people with disabilities find employment by modifying vehicles or devices that enable them to do the job.
