You can see them everyday. Men, women and teenagers from Brainerd and the surrounding areas. Some come alone, some come in groups. All are providing invaluable assistance to residents and patients at Brainerd State Hospital.

Veterans of World War I barracks and Auxiliary No. 1289 of Brainerd met in regular session on Wednesday evening. Thirty-five members were in attendance.

Russell's new ice cream building located on Front Street can turn out, in one hour, 300 gallons of the smoothest ice cream available. The reason for such quantity and quality lies in the new equipment of the Russell plant.
80 years ago (1928)
Mail collections and delivery service to all parts of big Gull Lake will commence May 15 with clearing through the Nisswa Post Office. Mail will be delivered by motorboat.
100 years ago (1908)
The people of Brainerd are apparently not much in awe of the city ordinances. There have been more bonfires, if anything, since the council directed the chief of the fire department to enforce the ordinance than there were before.
