From top to bottom, and from fairway to green, the Brainerd Country Club has taken on a new look this spring. Mark Johnson replaces last year's golf professional, Jim Terry.

Charlie's Restaurant rolling a 3,019 which included a 685 series by Ray Puetz claimed the Brainerd Intercity Roll-off title at LaGuyal Lanes.
40 years ago (1967)
Jim Haefemeyer, son of Mrs. Walter A. Haefemeyer, has been named the recipient of a McCormick Scholarship in Journalism.
60 years ago (1947)
Summer temperatures moved into the Brainerd area today with a maximum of 76 degrees. It was a marked change from the snow-covered ground recorded here a week ago.
80 years ago (1927)
The Brainerd Country Club, with a nine-hole course and greens west of Brainerd, is now open. Visitors are charged $1 a day.
100 years ago (1907)
The crew which came in from the north today on the Minnesota and International reports 6 inches of snow at Big Falls.
