Highway 47 work will resume in area counties
BAXTER - Beginning Monday, crews will resume work on the Highway 47 safety improvement project between Isle and the junction of U.S. Highway 169 in Aitkin, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
During daytime hours, crews will work on milling off three inches of the existing bituminous roadway surface and replacing the pavement with a new bituminous surface.
During the mill and overlay, traffic will be single lane through the work zone controlled by a car and flaggers. In addition, crews will add several turn lanes and replace guardrail throughout the project limits.
Weather permitting, the $5.8 million improvement and preservation project is expected to be complete by the end of July.
Highway 371 roadwork to be completed
BAXTER - In May crews will wrap up roadwork on the Highway 371 project between Camp Ripley and Little Falls in Morrison County, the Minnesota Department of Transportation reported.

This season crews will complete:
¥ Removing old pavement and reshaping ground slopes, just south of Morrison County Highway 46.
¥ Constructing a turn lane and paving the final layer of bituminous at the Highway 115 and Morrison County Highway 76 intersection.
¥ Doing permanent roadway striping and installing fencing along the Highway 371 right-of-way.
Motorists may encounter intermittent lane or shoulder closures. MnDOT encourages motorists to drive with caution and watch for crews and equipment in the work zone. Weather permitting, work is expected to be complete by the end of May.
