Traffic surveys to be conducted on area highways
The Minnesota Department of Transportation and Crow Wing County are partnering to conduct traffic surveys on selected Brainerd lakes area highways during daytime hours Tuesday-Thursday as weather permits.
The surveys will be used to collect information on travel patterns and will be instrumental in developing planning tools to identify future transportation needs in the growing area community.
The survey will involve interviewing a sample of randomly selected motorists. Survey stations will be set up, vehicles will be flagged over and asked to participate in a short, voluntary interview that will last about 30 seconds.
Both MnDOT and Crow Wing County said the cooperation of drivers who participate in the survey is appreciated because, by sharing their driving experiences, they will help the state and county identify future needed transportation improvements.
Drivers are urged to slow down, obey traffic message signs and be prepared to stop when coming upon a roadside survey station.
For questions concerning the survey, contact MnDOT District 3 Planning Director Steve Voss at 828-2471 or e-mail to steve.voss@dot.state.mn.us.
