Irene Lydia Rangen, 18-year-old senior at Brainerd High School, was crowned Miss Brainerd 1978. She is the daughter of Rueben and Lydia Rangen of Route 1.

At an election of letter basketball boys of Brainerd High School, Carol Guin was re-elected captain for the 1928-29 season. Guin is All-District and All-Regional center. He will have two more years of competition.

Landlord Jamieson has given the Hotel Earl front a new coat of paint and provided some comfortable lawn seats on the porch for the benefit of the boarders.
