Forsberg, Cardinals win twice AREA BOYS' GOLF
MENAHGA - Nick Forsberg's 75 landed him in the medalist position and the Staples-Motley Cardinals in first place in the Warrior Invitational Tuesday at Blueberry Pines.
S-M's Mike Strain shot a fifth-place 85. Ben Duhn was one stroke back at 86 and Zach Israelson's 88 rounded out the Cardinals' 334.
The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines finished third and were led by Tyler Fix's 89.
Ben Kline of the Pine River-Backus Tigers shot 83 to finish third and lead PR-B to fourth.
Forsberg and the Cardinals also won a Mid-Minn Conference meet that was played on the back nine of the invitational. Forsberg shot 36 and the Cardinals shot 215 to claim a 47-point advantage in the conference standings over W-DC.
