Charles Knox, 27, was found guilty of second-degree unintentional murder and two counts of manslaughter in the death of Michael Mahoney, Nisswa, whose frozen body was found December 4.

Denny Flanagan was named Men's Bowler of the Year at the annual bowling association banquet. In addition to having the highest average in two leagues he rolled a 701 to help Netting Insurance claim the city roll-off crown, the only 700 series here this year.

Construction will begin in December on a $2.8 million modernization program at St. Joseph's Hospital, according to Sister Mary Patrick, administrator. It will provide a new lab, X-ray department and emergency department, among other enhancements.

A very pleasant party was given by Miss Ray Whitford at her home on South Sixth Street last night. During the evening someone came through the back door and stole a cake which was in a tin. She says she didn't care for the cake but would like the tin back.
