Whitlock's stingy pitching keys Braves to victory over Harding VICTORY LEAGUE
Tony Whitlock threw seven shutout innings and Jason Roepke nailed down the final two leading the Brainerd Braves to a 3-2 Victory League baseball win over the Harding Dinosaurs Sunday.
Whitlock struck out six, walked two and allowed five hits and no runs.
The Dinosaurs scored two runs in the ninth inning, but Roepke closed the door for the save. Roepke also had three hits and Jamie LaDouceur doubled twice and scored two runs for Brainerd.

BUCKMAN - Rhett Williamson was 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI to lead the Fort Ripley Rebels to a 9-2 victory over Buckman Sunday.
The Rebels broke open a 3-2 game by scoring one run in the seventh inning, three in the eighth and two in the ninth.
Brett Kramer drove in four runs and scored twice as he finished 2-5 with two doubles. Tim Veith was 2-2 with an RBI and walk. Jason Sather was 2-4 with a triple and two runs and Ray Austin knocked in a run and scored.
Andy Waletzko pitched four innings and struck out five to pick up the win.
John Kahl was 2-3 with double and RBI.

PIERZ - Jake Johnson was 3-4 with two RBIs to lead St. Mathias past the Pierz Brewers 10-2.
Brad Streiff walked four times, hit a double and drove in a run.
Jake Francis was 2-5 with two RBIs, Zach Heidmann was 2-6 and Adam Hardy drove in a run.
Bill Aamodt struck out nine in nine innings to improve his record to 2-0.
Eric Boser was 2-4 with a double and an RBI for Pierz.

FOLEY - Paul Herman struck out seven in seven innings of work to lead the Pierz Bulldogs to a 15-5 victory over the Foley Outlaws Sunday.
Herman walked nine and allowed eight hits and five runs.
Jesse Herman was 2-5 and Pete Herman was 3-4 with four runs.

Lastrup 6, Cuyuna 2
CROSBY - In a battle of two 2-0 teams the Lastrup Lakers outlasted the Cuyuna Range Miners 6-2 in Victory League baseball Sunday.
Chad Weiss struck out eight and allowed two hits and no runs in six innings of work for the win.
Jason Sadlovsky was 2-4 with a double and two runs. Dan Saehr was 2-4 with two RBIs and two runs.
Jamie Litke was 2-3 and Reggie Litke was 2-4.
Steve Exstad was tagged with the loss. He struck out four over six innings and allowed eight hit and five runs.
Exstad's defense failed him as the Miners committed seven errors.
Matt Aberle was 2-4. John Hoag and Casey Kannel each had a hit.
