AREA GIRLS' GOLF Hasselberg, Cardinals both second
ST. CLOUD - The Minnewaska girls' golf team yet again proved too tough for the Staples-Motley Cardinals Thursday.
Class 2A's top-rated team bettered the second-rated Cardinals by 34 strokes to capture the St. Cloud Invite at the St. Cloud Country Club.
S-M's Cydney Hasselberg shot 77 to finish second, one stroke behind Allie Ostrander of Minnewaska.
Hailey Roberts shot 83 for seventh place and Julia Schock shot 87 for 10th.
Minnewaska had five players finish in the top eight.

PIERZ - Kristin Gotvald carded a 51 for the Pierz Pioneers as they finished third in the Pierz Invite Thursday.
Pierz's Sam Herold carded a 53 and Alissa Folger shot 56.

Pillager's Caitlin Kavanaugh won her second tournament of the week, capturing medalist honors with a 96 in a Quad County Conference meet Wednesday at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's.
