LOCAL BRIEFS Road preservation work slated for area highways
BAXTER - Motorists should plan for traffic restrictions on two area highways beginning about May 30, as crews apply a bituminous seal coat surface treatment on the pavement to extend the life of the roadway.
The highway segments scheduled for the preventative maintenance include:
¥ Highway 6 from the Mississippi River to south of Emily in Crow Wing County (about 6 miles); and Highway 6 from Remer to Highway 2 in Cass and Itasca counties (about 21 miles).
¥ Highway 371 from Backus to Hackensack in Cass County (about 7 miles).
During the work, a pilot car and flaggers will control traffic and motorists should plan for daily weekday lane closures. Crews will be working during daylight hours between sunrise and sunset.
