Pats' Noska qualifies for state HIGH SCHOOL TRACK
MOORHEAD - Kirsten Noska of Pequot Lakes qualified for the Class 1A state track and field meet in three events at Thursday's Section 6-1A meet.
Noska won the triple jump with a distance of 35-foot 1/2 and placed second in both the 200- and 400-meter dashes with times of 27.43 and 1:00.64.
Pequot's Clayton Foster qualified in two events. He won the 800 run with a time 2:01.01 and finished third in the 1600 run, but his time of 4:24.79 was within the state qualifying standard.
Other Patriots advancing were Tamala Zwart in the 100 hurdles and Kyle Hart in the pole vault.
Staples-Motley's Jose Alba and Naomi Landecker advanced to state in two events.
Alba won the shot put and discus with throws of 52-3 1/2 in the shot and 156-4 in the discus. Landecker finished second in both the 1600 and 3200 runs.
The Cardinals' Ashley Lisson won the 100 dash to advance as did teammates Nicole Kozlowski (discus) and Nikki Pearson (100 hurdles).
Andrew Knebel and Kim Rardin will represent the Pillager Huskies in the state meet. Knebel finished second in the 100 hurdles and Rardin was runner-up in the 800 run.
Wadena-Deer Creek's Brigetta Berg advanced to state by winning the pole vault with a height of 9-6.
