Local briefs Onamia man, injured in Friday crash, dies
ST. CLOUD -- A 79-year-old Onamia man, seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision Friday, has died.
Robert Duane Jones died Monday at St. Cloud Hospital, the State Patrol reported.
Jones was driving westbound on Mille Lacs County Road 23 about a mile north of Onamia when he pulled out onto U.S. 169 and into the path of a vehicle driven by Brian Piechoski, 20, St. Michael. Jones' vehicle was struck broadside by Piechoski's vehicle.
Jones and his passenger, Betty Jones, 72, Onamia, were airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital, where Tuesday Betty Jones was reported in serious condition.
Piechoski and his passenger, Jennifer Long, 18, Albertville, were treated for minor injuries at Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia.
Airport commission to meet Tuesday
The Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport Commission will meet 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the airport conference room.
