No field of dreams
The farmstead across from Camp Ripley stands in a field of road construction as work continues on the four-lane expansion of Highway 371 between Brainerd and Little Falls. The home's owner, Larry Rasinski, relocated to Staples. The buildings on the property eventually will be demolished. Before that can happen, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is making sure proper abatement is handled for such things as lead paint, copper, thermostats and bathroom fixtures, asbestos and fluorescent light bulbs.
