People will get a bang out of the 1985 medallion treasure hunt. The fifth annual event probably will still be in progress during Brainerd's revived Fourth of July celebration. Fireworks for the winner could mean more than $1,000.
30 years ago (1975)
Nisswa anglers Roger Miller, Rev. Len Anderson and Al Barnum fished Mille Lacs Lake and were rewarded with a fine catch of walleyes, using Lindy Rigs and leeches.
40 years ago (1965)
Seventy-one Brainerd Area Vocational Technical School students will graduate in the institution's first commencement exercises to be held June 4.

Kermit Aase, director of athletics at Washington High School, announced that 63 letters had been given to students during the past year.
