Crow Wing County DFL hosts open house
The Crow Wing County DFL Party announced it has opened the Democratic Party headquarters at 2027 South Sixth Street in Brainerd.

An open house is planned from 5:30-6 p.m. Thursday.

The party also announced it hired Joe Radinovich, who will work full time as a coordinated-campaign organizer out of the Brainerd headquarters. Radinovich, a graduate of Crosby-Ironton High School, recently interned with Rep. John Ward in St. Paul and is completing a degree in political science.

The office is open to the public.

The next regular monthly meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday following the open house.

Benefit sale planned

There will be a benefit garage sale for transplant recipient Patti Sawyer from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the corner of 28th Street and Addison Avenue in southeast Brainerd.

Car seat clinic scheduled

The Crow Wing County Passenger Safety is sponsoring a car seat clinic from 3:30-6 p.m. June 18 at Wal-Mart in Baxter.

Trained child car seat technicians will be on hand to assist with correct installation, correct fit for child or infant, check seat for defects and recalls and answer questions. Car seats will be replaced free as necessary.

Appointments must be made and will be taken on a first-call basis until the clinic is full. For more information or to schedule an appointment call 824-1097.
