Area veteran attends World War II Memorial ceremony
Arthur R. Kayala, longtime resident of Pine River, was one of more than 20,000 who attended the World War II Memorial Dedication ceremony Saturday in St. Paul, said his daughter, Maxine Kayala Norman. Kayala served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne. He was in campaigns in Northern Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, England and Germany. He and his wife, Hazel, from Leeds, England, now reside in the Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.
