NEW YORK MILLS (AP) -- We do reap what we sow.
That's the argument of a 35-year-old stay-at-home dad from Prescott, Wisc., who won the title "America's Greatest Thinker" on Saturday night.
Brad Buschette won the 11th annual Great American Think-Off by debating the question: "Do we reap what we sow?"
Buschette said "yes," arguing that people have their own internal ethical systems that reward or punish them on the basis of their actions. Besides the title of "America's Greatest Thinker," Buschette took home a $500 prize and a gold medal.
Finishing second was 75-year-old Arthur Yuwiler, a retired professor from Woodland Hills, Calif., who argued that people don't reap what they sow. The other finalists were David Shapiro, a 46-year-old teacher from Seattle and Roxann Sorenson, a 55-year-old artist/educator from Alexandria, Minn.
The event was held at the James W. Mann Performing Arts Center of the New York Mills High School.
