Crosslake Chautauqua program planned
CROSSLAKE - Crosslake Community Development Director Ken Anderson will explain the new regulations implemented to protect the lakes and wetland at a program entitled, "Shore Land Development and the Law" from 1:30-3:30 p.m. June 25 at the Crosslake Community Center.
Planning commission to meet Wednesday
A special meeting of the Brainerd Planning Commission will be 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Brainerd City Hall to discuss the zoning ordinance update/rewrite.
Senior dances planned
Senior dances will be 2-5 p.m. Wednesday at the Brainerd Eagles with music by John and Virginia and 1-4 p.m. Friday in Deerwood with music by Country Pride.
Crow Wing Power announces record attendance at annual meeting
About 3,500 people attended the 71st annual Crow Wing Power Member Appreciation Day and Annual Meeting Saturday.
The total number of ballots cast in the board election was 6,517. Incumbents re-elected to the board were Bette Mezzenga, Crosslake, with 6,019 votes; Gert Roggenkamp, Nisswa, with 4,383 votes over Lakmini Kidder with 2,011 votes. Dwight Thiesse received 4,740 votes over Mary Marana with 1,673 votes.
After the annual meeting the board conducted its re-organizational meeting. Bette Mezzenga was re-elected as president. Vice president is Gert Roggenkamp; Kay Blais, secretary; and Gordon Martin, treasurer.
