20 years ago (1986)

Sixty-one Brainerd Community College students qualified for the president's list for spring quarter 1986. An additional 95 students were placed on the provost's list.

30 years ago (1976)

Chet Snyder, mayor of East Gull Lake, tapped into the 18th green of the new Madden's Pine Beach West golf course. With the addition of the new course, 45 holes of golf are featured in the resort's golf complex at Gull Lake.

40 years ago (1966)

Some 58 employees have been added to the staff at the Brainerd State School and Hospital - 28 on a permanent basis and 30 for the summer.

60 years ago (1946)

Parades, parades and more parades - Brainerd's renowned Ladies' Drum and Bugle Corps is constantly on the march. Already having appeared in five major events this year, members of the corps have at least five more engagements for the summer.

80 years ago (1926)

The United Commercial Travelers of Brainerd Council dance given at Lum Park Friday night drew the largest crowd of dancers ever seen at Lum Park in recent years. Over 500 people were on the floor and the refreshment facilities were taxed to the utmost.

100 years ago (1906)
