LITTLE FALLS - Before Tuesday's shooting interrupted the meeting, the Morrison County Board appointed Steve Reger, the social service director, to serve as the county's interim county administrator.
County Administrator Tim Houle resigned his post after 14 years to fill the Crow Wing County administrator position. Houle is expected to start the job in Brainerd July 14.
Reger also will serve as the county board clerk.
The board then appointed Melanie Beseman as the interim social service director.
The board also agreed to hire M & A Executive Search firm to search for a new county administrator at a cost not to exceed $18,000, plus expenses.
