William D. Widman Jr.
STURGEON LAKE - William Daniel Widman Jr., 65, of Sturgeon Lake, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in Mercy Hospital, Moose Lake. He was born July 24, 1943, in Brainerd to William and Violet (Cole) Widman Sr. Bill was united in marriage to Ina Jean Michener on Jan. 25, 1964, in Sioux City, Iowa. Bill is a Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Bill was a truck driver for Gordon's Transport as well as ABF Freight Systems. He enjoyed motorcycling, boating, snowmobiling and especially spending time with his family. Bill was a member of Family Worship Church of Moose Lake.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Ina, of Sturgeon Lake; son, Michael (Erin) Widman, of Rochester; daughter, Cheryl (Jeffrey) Kargel, of Stillwater; brother, Paul (Faith) Widman, of Backus; sister, Alice (Merlin) Widman-Kallinen, of Silver Bay; grandchildren, Joseph Kargel, Caleb Kargel, Michael Widman Jr. and Burke Widman; nieces and nephews, Edwin Kallinen, Laura Bailey, Kevin Kallinen, Jeffrey Widman and Jacki Widman.
A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, June 29, from noon until the 1 p.m. memorial service in Family Worship Church, Moose Lake. Inurnment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are with Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake.
