The Brainerd sophomore VFW baseball team split a doubleheader with Sartell on Thursday.
Sartell won the first game 2-1 in eight innings. Kyle Crocker was 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, Reid Mimmack was 2-3 with a double and Joel Martin drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Crocker was the losing pitcher. In seven innings he allowed two earned runs and eight hits, struck out four and walked none.
Brainerd won the second game 3-2 as Jaron Hanson had an RBI single and Ethan Nichols and Flanagan had singles.
Burrell Flanagan got the win. In five innings he gave up two earned runs and five hits, struck out four and walked five.
