STAPLES - Brainerd's freshman VFW baseball team swept a doubleheader from Staples-Motley on Thursday.
Anthony Jenkins and Tyler Jenniges each had two hits for Staples-Motley as it lost the first game 16-6. Sam Duberowski and Jenniges doubled for S-M.
Brainerd won the second game 13-3. Trevor Ness had two hits, including a solo home run, and Duberowski and Dylan Shequen doubled for S-M.
