Lunkers strand five, get swept in Green Bay NORTHWOODS LEAGUE
GREEN BAY, Wis. - Aaron Conway and Matt Argyropoulos reached base and scored in the first inning as the Green Bay Bull Frogs completed the two-game sweep of the Lunkers with Friday's 2-1 win at Joannes Stadium.
The Lunkers missed numerous opportunities as they failed to score with the bases loaded in the first inning as well as with runners on during the fifth and sixth innings.
In the seventh, a triple to the gap in right-center by David Valesente set up a sacrifice fly RBI by Stephen Wickens put the Lunkers on the board.
Starter Brian Garman went six innings, allowed two runs on five hits, and struck out three for the Lunkers. In relief, Joey Van Cleave threw two innings and struck out six.
