Donald S. Ondris
PILLAGER - Donald S. Ondris, age 49, resident of Pillager, died Friday, June 26, 2009, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1959, in Brainerd, Minn., and graduated from Pillager High School in 1978. Shortly after graduation he moved to Aurora, Colo., and worked in residential and commercial construction. In 1980 he joined his father and worked with Mike Ondris Construction. His career in construction included working with Nor-Son Construction and Paul Abrahamson Construction companies. Over the past five years he has owned and operated Ondris Construction & Boat Storage near Pillager. He married Barbara Larson on Sept. 17, 2005.
He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Ondris; and brother-in-law, John Sivers.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; step-sons Mark and Andrew Matich; his mother Frances Ondris; one brother, David (Brenda) of Clear Lake; sisters Debra (Gary) Brunko of Morris and Diane (Lowell) Scearcy of Brainerd; nieces Kimberly Scearcy and Stacy Ondris Haigh; nephews Ryan Scearcy, Steven Ondris, Jason Sivers and Justin Sivers; one great-nephew and two great-nieces.
Funeral services will be held at First Lutheran Church, 424 S. Eighth St. in Brainerd, on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kristin Oltmann officiating. Burial will be at the Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager at later time.
Friends may call one hour prior to services at First Lutheran Church in Brainerd on Wednesday.
Arrangements are by Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
