Lunkers finally win game in Wisconsin
NORTHWOODS LEAGUE
MADISON, Wis. - In their five previous games in the Badger State, the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers fell short of winning.

That changed Sunday afternoon with a 7-4 victory over the Madison Mallards in Game Two of their series at Warner Park.

The Lunkers catapulted to victory behind a six-run sixth inning that looked similar to the eruption the Mallards used to claim the victory Saturday.

Taylor Babich (Rhodes College) picked up his third victory of the season. In six innings he allowed eight hits and three earned runs, walked two and struck out five.

T.J Berge (Northern Colorado) and Will Piwnica-Worms (Duke) each had two hits for Brainerd. Dennis O'Grady (Duke) drove in two runs.

Jerrud Sabourin had three hits for the Mallards.

The Lunkers return home Monday night against the Rochester Honkers. First pitch is 7:05 p.m. The first 300 kids 14-under receive a pennant as part of Lunkers Pennant Night at Mills Field.
