Feet for Fools on the 4th
The 17th annual Feet For Fools 5-kilometer walk/run is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the home of Bob and Jeanne Larson, 315 C Street, Brainerd.

Registration is at 8 a.m., the race begins at 9 a.m. Awards, slide show and door prizes will be at 10:30 a.m. A potluck dinner will be served following the event. A contribution to the potluck is your entry fee.

T-shirts are available for $10. Last year's shirts will be for sale for $5.

Baxter team 1-1-1

The Baxter 12-under traveling baseball team participated in the Mahtomedi tournament this past weekend.

Baxter lost Game One to Inver Grove Heights 6-4, beat Chisago Lakes 4-3 in Game Two and tied Eastview 5-5 due to time constraints in pool play.

Against Inver Grove, Sam Schutt pitched three scoreless innings despite eight Baxter errors.

David Supinski got the win against Chisago Lakes, throwing three innings with no earned runs. Quinn McElfresh got the save.

Against Eastview, the defending state champions, McElfresh threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings and Baxter had a season-high 11 hits.

NCS rained out

Saturday night's stock car racing program at North Central Speedway in Barrows was rained out.

NCS' next event is 6:45 p.m. Saturday when it hosts the Kouba Memorial Sprints.
