Larry A. Fyle
Sunday, June 28, 2009, Larry Albert Fyle, age 80, passed from this life to the next, after a lengthy battle with cancer, he surrounded by his family and accompanied by Jesus. He is survived by his wife and life partner of 54 years, Lois (Ritter) Fyle; children, Marcy MacAulay (Tom), Tony Fyle (Wendy), Gigi Nelson (Guy), Jeremy Fyle (Cindi), Jed Fyle, who preceded him in death; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a son of his heart, Shawn (Jenny) Bailey, of Nisswa.
Larry was born in Monticello, Minn., Aug. 6, 1928, during meager times. Into a family of 11 he lived, five of who survive him. As a young man, he learned the value of integrity. He practiced this value through out his life whether parenting, volunteering, working or relaxing. His word was his bond! He owned and operated the first Honey Wagon, Honey Houses and container business. He served in United States Marine Corps during the Korean conflict and was a life member and past commander of the Nisswa American Legion, retired fire chief for the Nisswa Fire Department, life member and volunteer at St. Christopher's Catholic Church of Nisswa and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Venice, Fla.
Larry loved to work, drive truck and enjoyed all the new acquaintances he met along the way. When he wasn't working he could be found on the lake or ocean with a pole in his hand.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Nisswa at 10:30 a.m. with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Military honors provided by the Nisswa American Legion. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Nisswa Fire Department or St. Christopher's Catholic Church.
Arrangements are with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
