The following are the results of the MCA-II results for Crosby-Ironton seventh-, eighth-, 10th- and 11th-grades, which were inadvertently omitted in Monday's paper:
¥ 53 percent of seventh-graders were proficient in math, while 55 percent were proficient in reading.
¥ 52 percent of eighth-graders were proficient in math while 62 percent were proficient in reading.
¥ 77 percent of 10th-graders were proficient in reading.
¥ 34 percent of 11th-graders were proficient in reading.
Range Area Alternative Program
¥ No data was available because of the small testing groups for 10th-grade reading and 11th-grade math.
AARP Safe Driving Program classes set
The AARP Safe Driving Program (formerly 55 Alive) has scheduled classes. First-time participants must take the full eight-hour class and, every three years, take the four-hour refresher class to maintain the insurance discount.
Cost of the class is $10.
The four-hour refresher class will be offered from noon-4 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. July 22 at the Lakes Area Senior Center, 829-9345; noon-4 p.m. July 9 at the Nisswa American Legion, (218) 963-9946, Ext. 1; noon-4 p.m. July 23 at the Nisswa Community Center, (218) 546-4732; and noon -4 p.m. at the Emily City Hall on July 26, (218) 763-2480. The eight-hour full course is scheduled from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. July 16 at the Nisswa American Legion, (218) 963-9946, Ext. 1.
The AARP Safe Driving Program is a classroom driver refresher course conduced by AARP volunteers for people over 50. Participants sharpen their driving skills, develop strategies for adjusting to age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time and learn how to handle the challenges of today's roads.
