Front Street is now open to two-way traffic in Brainerd
With the downtown Brainerd street reconstruction project nearing completion, motorists will see more change than just new streets and sidewalks.
With the project Front Street is open to two-way traffic, a change the city has considered for the past several years.
All downtown roads that are part of the project will be open for the July Fourth weekend, reported contractor Tom's Backhoe Service.
Road closures after this point will be on an "as needed basis" except for the final work on asphalt paving and striping.
