CROSSLAKE - The Crosslake Clothes Closet, an organization that distributes donated clothing and small appliances at no cost to those who need them, is looking for a new location.
The closet has been located in the lower level of Lakes State Bank for the past 13 years. Dodo Fraser, coordinator of the closet, said she's been informed the bank now needs the space and that it will have to relocate by the fall of 2009.
The Crosslake Clothes Closet accepts donations and distributes articles each Tuesday morning, from September to May.
Fraser said the organization has no funds to pay rent for a building. She said that if no building can be found the Crosslake Clothes Closet will have to close its doors.
She expressed gratitude for the bank's generosity during the past 13 years.
The clothes closet, Fraser said, began in 1996 when Joyce Smith and Fraser recruited women from each of the area's six churches for the project. The closet started in Crosslake City Hall.
More information may be obtained by contacting Fraser at 692-4056, Rosie at 765-3417 or Arlyn at 543-6509.
