The irrigation system and pavers should be complete at the end of next week in the downtown Brainerd reconstruction project, the contractor, Tom's Backhoe Service, reported Thursday.
The schedule for the final asphalt and striping is expected for release Wednesday. The final cleanup is expected in the next couple of weeks along with plantings. The trees will be planted once the hot weather has passed. Benches, bike racks, kiosks are on order and will be installed as soon as they arrive.
All roads will remain open for the Fourth of July weekend.
Weekly meetings updating business owners, property owners and the public about what to expect in the coming week are at 9 a.m. Wednesdays at Brainerd City Hall, 501 Laurel St.
