Hundreds of people lined Brainerd streets to view the Johnny Inkslinger Parade. Some 100 units were included in the parade.

Shakespeare's "Merchant of Venice" brought several hundred persons to Gregory Square and kept them there for nearly three hours despite some vicious attacks by mosquitoes.

Midland Amusement Park and Garrison on Mille Lacs Lake is the scene of a gigantic Fourth of July celebration and many Brainerd people are there for the day picnicking and enjoying the amusements of this popular playground.
100 years ago (1908)
The clerk of the weather certainly is doing his part toward making the Fourth of July a success in Brainerd. A more perfect day could hardly be imagined. The temperature is just right with a gentle breeze blowing.
