SPOTS TO STOP - CROW WING LAKE
Crow Wing Lake

How to get there: From Brainerd, go about 12 miles south on Highway 371 and take a left on Crow Wing County Road 131 to get to the public access, which is about one mile on the left.

Why go?: If you're in for some fun, enjoy water-skiing, tubing or knee boarding and you have a nice, sunny day - why not? I prefer to go when there is no wind and the lake is calm. It's a great time to get in exercise, bond with family and friends and enjoy the lake. These activities can be enjoyed on any recreation/general development lake.

Crow Wing Lake is one of many lakes in the Brainerd lakes area where people can go water-skiing or enjoy other water sports on a nice sunny day. Brainerd Dispatch/Nels Norquist

How much?: If you own a boat or know someone who has one, along with the proper equipment, such as water skis and life jackets, and you have a swimsuit, the only cost is gas to get to the lake and gas for the boat. We usually pack a cooler of water, pop and juice, plus food and other snacks for the day, which costs about $20.
