EXTRA CREDIT
Eric Christopher Blum, son of Kevin and Jan Blum, Brainerd, graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. He is employed at the Fargo Family Medical Center in Fargo, N.D.
Pequot Lakes Middle School fourth quarter students of excellence were Zach Trottier and Jackie Brine-Doyle, sixth grade; Rebecca Langer and Shawn Gerdes, seventh grade; and Whitney Kyar and Philip Huss, eighth grade.
Pequot Lakes Middle School artists of the fourth quarter were Mikaela Florey, sixth grade; Lance Squires, seventh grade; and Jordan Redmond, eighth grade.
Sixth graders in Morrison County participated in an essay contest about how and/or why an older person was special to them. First place winners were Hayley Hollermann, a student at Little Falls Community Middle School; and Alex Helmin, a student at Royalton Elementary School. Second place winners were Ethan Lochner and Nicole Hoheisel, both students at the Pierz Pioneer Elementary School.
The four winners are invited to read their essays at the Morrison County Fair on Senior Citizen Day July 31. They will also receive prizes from the Morrison County Council on Aging.
Mara Patricia Prusak graduated from St. Mary's University-Twin Cities with a master of science degree in nurse anesthesia.
Amanda Svoboda, daughter of Lori Svoboda, Brainerd, was named to the second semested dean's list at St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
Sarah Kay Walker, Pine River, was named to the dean's list for spring semester at Anderson University in Anderson, Ind.
Erica Hensel, daughter of John and Kathy Hensel, Brainerd, was named to the dean's list at the College of St. Scholastica.
Kristy Lemcke, daughter of Ron and Sharon Lemcke, Pequot Lakes, Michael McGreevy, Cushing, and Jean Kruger, Deerwood, were named to the president's list for spring semester at Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
