A.J. Hartshorn pitched 14 innings of one-run baseball to lead the Aitkin River Hawks to a sweep of the Bagley Thundercats Sunday in Itasca League baseball.
In an 8-0 game one victory Hartshorn struck out nine, walked two and allowed one hit.
He struck out seven in the 5-1 game two win.
Brandon Perrine was 3-for-4 with three runs and John Holder was 3-4 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs in the first game. Hartshorn helped himself by going 2-4 with three RBIs and Chris Hoffman added an RBI.
Holder finished 2-3 with a run and two RBIs in the second game. Mitch Hodgman added an RBI.
Aitkin improved to 7-1 and host Nashwauk 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
