GOLF SHORTS
Brewster, U of M fundraiser at Legacy
The Legacy Courses at Cragun's will be the site of the University of Minnesota golf event, with proceeds going to help fund Gopher atheltic scholarships.

The event will be held 10 a.m. Friday with a 10:45 coaches luncheon highlighted by guest speaker Tim Brewster, head Gopher football coach.

A 12:30 p.m. shotgun start will follow the lunch with scoring and prizes afterward.

The cost is $125 for those interested in golfing and $25 for just the luncheon.

Women's tournament July 23 at Breezy Point

The Breezy Point women's golf invitational tournament is scheduled July 23 at Whitebirch.

Continental breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. Shotgun start is at 8:30 a.m. Lunch follows golf.

Cost is $55 per person for guests (includes breakfast, lunch, golf with cart, prizes).

Double eagle

Mike Lawrance, Wayzata, carded a double eagle on the 461-yard, 15th hole of Breezy Point Resort's Whitebirch Golf Course July 3 using a 4-iron from 178 yards out.

Holes-in-one

Pat Paumen, Baxter, aced the 100-yard eighth hole of the Dutch Course at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's July 3 using a sand wedge.

Doug Brown, Crosslake, aced the 164-yard third hole at Deacon's Lodge July 3 using a 7-iron.

Robert Carlson, Fargo, aced the 148-yard 15th hole of the Dutch Course at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's July 3 using a 7-iron.

James Burns, Shoreview, aced the 112-yard, ninth hole of Bobby's Course at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's July 6 using a pitching wedge.
